Flywheel RemovalOutboards2004 Johnson 2-stroke 40HP and 50HP SR outboards

WARNING
To avoid accidental starting of engine, twist and remove all spark leads.

Remove the flywheel nut using a strap wrench or Flywheel Holding Tool, PIN 771311.

Apply Moly Lube to threads of pressing screw and center hole of crankshaft.

Apply Moly Lube

Assemble Universal Puller Set, PIN 378103 on the flywheel with body flat side up. Seat the shoulder screws completely. Hold puller by its handle, and tighten pressing screw until flywheel releases.

Using universal puller

Remove the flywheel.
