Fuel Pump ServicingOutboards1993 Johnson/Evinrude 9.9HP thru 30HP outboards

Before replacing suspect fuel pump, remove and clean the fuel filter and install new filter element.
Also, remove the fuel hose from the fuel tank and blow through all passages and hoses with low-pressure compressed air to be sure they .
This might br the cause of inadequate fuel delivery. If this procedure does not correct the trouble, test the fuel pump.

Note To prevent excessive fuel spillage, disconnect house connector before disassembly.

After servicing, check for leaks by connecting fuel hose to motor and squeezing primer bulb until definite resistance is felt in bulb.

service filter, loosen screw and remove cover "A".
Do not lose small O-ring "B" from around center post large O-ring "C" from outer edge of cover.
